Nurses Week 2020
The spring of 2020 has been an extremely strange and challenging time in our world and here in our own nation with the COVID-19 virus. It's been a generation or two since our last pandemic here in the United States, with the outbreak of the 1968 H3N2 virus. This year's pandemic has been much bigger and widespread, with the total fatalities worldwide being well over 345k people.
Members of Washtenaw County Senior Leaders wanted to do something extra special this year for Nurse's Week to show support for all the men and women who are on the front lines in our hospitals, clinics, and senior communities. On Thursday, May 7th, members of our group (WCSL) gathered together at the Evangelical Home in Saline to decorate their vehicles with car paint, signs, balloons, and streamers and then proceeded to get into formation to do a parade/drive-by through as many senior-related businesses and communities that support our oldest population in Washtenaw County. They hit a total of 18 that day.

Still following the social distancing guidelines set out by the governor of Michigan, the group, with their cars, trucks, and vans all decked out in their beautifully decorated splendor, visited the following places that day:
